Vietnam capital city of Hanoi Expected to Sizzle at 35°C in Early April

In the initial days of April, Hanoi experiences scorching temperatures, soaring up to 35 degrees Celsius under clear skies, as reported by the meteorological agency.

As per the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, on March 26, the Southeast region expects hot weather, with temperatures peaking around 35-36 degrees Celsius at 1 pm, possibly exceeding 36 degrees Celsius in certain areas. Relative humidity is expected to range between 45-50%. The Southwest and Central Highlands regions anticipate localized heat.

Looking ahead to March 27-28, the Southern region braces for similarly hot conditions, with temperatures typically ranging from 35-37 degrees Celsius, potentially surpassing 37 degrees Celsius in some areas. Relative humidity is expected to remain between 45-50%. Meanwhile, the Central Highlands region also anticipates local heat, with temperatures soaring over 35 degrees Celsius in certain spots.

The meteorological agency issues a warning, indicating that the Southern region may endure prolonged hot weather in the coming days.

Here’s the 10-day weather forecast for Hanoi:

  • March 26: Hanoi experiences cloudy conditions with sporadic rain, followed by sunshine in the afternoon. Temperatures range from 22-24 degrees Celsius in the morning and rise to 28-30 degrees Celsius later in the day.
  • March 27-29: The capital continues to observe cloudy weather with occasional light rain. Daytime temperatures hover between 21-23 degrees Celsius, climbing to 26-29 degrees Celsius.
  • Starting from March 30, Hanoi transitions to sunny and sweltering weather, with temperatures sharply escalating. By early April, daily highs reach 35 degrees Celsius.

Forecast for hot weather in seasonal regions (April to September 2024):

  • April to June: Early onset of hot weather is expected in the Northwest and Central regions.
  • From late March onwards, hot weather emerges in the western regions of the Northwest and the mountainous areas of the North Central region, intensifying and spreading gradually to other parts of the North, North Central, and Central regions throughout April to June 2024.
  • Persistent heat in the Southern region will extend to the Eastern region, gradually encompassing the Western region from late March to early May.
  • July to September: Anticipate increased occurrences of hot weather and intense heat in the North and Central regions compared to historical averages. Particularly intense heat is expected in July and August 2024.
  • Temperatures are projected to gradually decrease from the latter half of August in the North and from September in the Central region.
