Typhoon Yagi Remains a Super Typhoon, Approaching Gulf of Tonkin

by BusinessMagazine

Starting the afternoon of September 6, strong winds of level 6-7 will affect the eastern Gulf of Tonkin, including the island district of Bach Long Vi. By tonight, winds in the entire Gulf of Tonkin, including the islands of Bach Long Vi, Co To, Cat Ba, and Cat Hai, will increase to levels 8-11. Areas near the storm’s center could experience winds as high as levels 12-14, with gusts up to level 17. The sea will become extremely rough and dangerous.

On land, the most critical period for strong winds is expected from tonight until tomorrow night. Coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa are likely to experience winds of level 6-9, with areas near the storm center facing winds at levels 10-12, gusting up to 14. Inland areas, including Hanoi, may experience winds of level 6-8, with gusts reaching level 9-11.

Visitors in affected areas, especially around the Gulf of Tonkin and coastal regions like Cat Ba and Co To, should take immediate precautions. Avoid coastal activities, and stay updated on local weather warnings. Strong winds and rough seas make travel and outdoor activities highly dangerous during the storm’s passage.
