Coffee is a favorite drink around the world, but each country has its own way of enjoying it.
The Travel – a magazine specializing in travel experiences – recently had an article (by Canadian author Robynne Trueman) listing the countries with the best coffee in the world, and at the very beginning of that article mentioned Vietnamese iced milk coffee.
The author of the article believes that coffee drinking and preparing in each locality is imbued with indigenous culture and traditions. Therefore, learning about the coffee culture of a country also helps visitors to know more about the country itself.
In Vietnam, coffee is not just a drink to start a new day; it’s something that people can enjoy in the morning, noon and even evening. Vietnam has some of the best coffee in the world, and there are two very unique drinks that every visitor should try while visiting. Vietnamese iced coffee consists of medium or dark roasted coffee with ice, combined with condensed milk. It’s the perfect drink for a hot day.
Another unique coffee that visitors should not miss when coming to Vietnam is egg coffee.
This delicious hot drink is made by combining egg yolks with condensed milk to create a delicious latte for a cup of coffee.
Coffee is a popular commodity in Vietnam and around the world. Currently there are more than 70 coffee producing countries, but the majority of global coffee production comes from 5 major producers: Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, Indonesia and Ethiopia. All of these top producing countries are located in the so-called “Beans Belt”, which lies between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn.
